Another staple of Oxford Poetry's magazine existence began with this issue, when D. J. Enright set the Rilke Translation Competition. The pattern of the Translation Competition was that the text in German (or whatever language) would be printed in one issue, with translations invited, and the winning translation or translations would be printed in the next.
